Commercial Product Director

Trusted by global brands and SMEs alike, PHMG helps clients enhance their customer experiences through strategic expertise and stress-free solutions, ranging from bespoke audio branding to cloud-based telephony optimisation.

Our success in penetrating both core and new markets, combined with tech-enabled service delivery, provides an ideal platform for scaling our business. We continue to lead our industry by evolving our services to meet the growing demand from clients for added value across their customer touchpoints.

In 2023, we collaborated with leading external advisors to refine our business strategy, identifying new market opportunities and adjacent products. Reporting directly into the Board of Directors, you’ll play a crucial role in our strategy. Your primary responsibilities will include evaluating, testing, and optimising new products we can sell into our client base to drive our growth.

You’ll bring with you a deep understanding of product development, commercial analysis, and pricing strategy, coupled with a proven record of successfully identifying and bringing new products to market. Your ability to cultivate and manage strategic partners will be essential in critically analysing re-selling, white-labelling and partnership opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Market research: Conduct and analyse market research to identify potential new products aligned with our strategic goals. Leveraging internal and external expertise, you’ll be empowered to innovate and make compelling recommendations to the Board.
  • New product development: Take full ownership of the new product development process, from concept to commercialisation. You’ll lead dynamic cross-functional teams to transform innovative ideas into market-ready products, ensuring alignment of commercial strategies with our revenue goals for maximum impact.
  • Strategic partnership management: Proactively initiate and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders of potential partners. Represent PHMG with professionalism and eloquence, effectively communicating the compelling benefits of collaboration and driving mutual growth opportunities.
  • Communication and Pitching: Creating compelling pitches and presentations that highlight the unique value of new products. Support Learning teams in developing appropriate training collateral for Sales and Client Services teams.
  • Collaborative revenue growth: Work closely with Revenue, Sales, Client Services and Marketing leadership to develop and implement effective strategies for revenue growth across existing and new clients. Ensure new products support client acquisition and retention initiatives.
  • OKR establishment and analysis: Develop Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure the success of commercial product initiatives. Consistently evaluate performance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven track record of success in new product development, including ideation, market analysis, product positioning and launch strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in senior commercial roles, driving revenue growth and market expansion through effective sales and marketing plans.
  • High level of commercial acumen and ability to analyse complex data.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends, skilled in identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with new technology product development.
  • Client-centric focus with highly developed understanding of how to assess client needs and preferences.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience developing and managing strategic partnerships with providers and stakeholders.
  • Experience of the North American market is preferable.
