For more than 150 years, Gloucester Rugby has been at the heart of the West Country’s sporting scene. Since 1997, they’ve held their place in the top tier of English domestic rugby, with the Castle Grim Estate not just their fortress, but a year-round venue for concerts and events.

With a loyal supporter base and thousands of fans engaging with them every week, the club wanted to make every touchpoint count. We were tasked with transforming their on-hold experience – filling the silence with up-to-date, informative messages that deliver consistency across all platforms.

The problem

As the only rugby club within 25 miles, Gloucester Rugby attracts thousands of fans and eventgoers – many of whom still prefer to pick up the phone to buy tickets.

But with fixtures and event details constantly changing, the club needed a fast, reliable way to keep supporters informed and avoid missed sales. At the same time, it was essential to maintain their reputation and position within the rugby world by ensuring their marketing reflected their proud roots.
