Role: Lead Data Analyst

Location: Manchester

Hours: 8:45am5:15pm Monday – Friday

Package: Up to £70k OTE

 

PHMG is embarking on an exciting new phase in its journey, focusing on modernizing our data capability and enhancing the way we work. This evolution presents numerous opportunities to leverage data more effectively, allowing us to better serve our customers and colleagues. As part of this growth, we are expanding our team to maximize the value from the wealth of data stored within the organisation.

This position will sit within our Client Services department but will benefit from strong ties to the broader Data & Analytics department, ensuring comprehensive support and collaboration. A dedicated data engineering and reporting team will support you, enabling a focused effort on deriving meaningful value and insights from our data. The primary responsibility involves generating regular insights into client behaviours, retention rates, health scores, and product usage patterns.

The Role: What you will do:

  • Perform statistical analysis to uncover new commercial opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with the data engineering team to define client services data models
  • Design and build analytical models to forecast and predict behaviours
  • Churn analysis and insight
  • Segment the client base into meaningful audiences/profiles
  • Support with the insight and interpretation of client surveys
  • Use root cause analysis to identify client issues
  • Capture requirements for client service reporting
  • Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities within our client base
  • Deep dive into customer behaviours
  • Communicating with the senior leadership of client services

 

The Person: What we are looking for:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • A can-do attitude and is a self-starter
  • Understanding of Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Has experience with using programming languages such as python to build analytical/statistical models
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL – ideally working with Snowflake
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau
  • Proven track record of using insights to drive business change
  • Has experience in working with a client services team/department

 

The Department

The Data & Analytics department serves as the central hub for data engineering and insights across our organization, comprising four essential teams: Data Engineering, Reporting, Commercial Data, and Data Science. Our department operates as a unified force, cultivating a culture that empowers both analysts and engineers to excel. We foster collaboration through regular hackathons, team events, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

 

Our department's director recognizes that effective business intelligence is not the sole responsibility of one department but a capability that should permeate the entire organization. To achieve this, we view the data department as an enabler of self-serve analytics, accomplished through robust data management, governance, and education initiatives. This approach ensures that business intelligence is accessible and leveraged across the organization, driving data-driven decision-making at all levels.
