Head Trainer L&D

We’re looking for a Head Trainer to conduct informative training sessions, promote company efficiency, and improve the skills of all personnel in line with PHMG’s L&D strategy.

As a Head Trainer you should be a great communicator with the ability to effectively describe complicated ideas to different audiences in an engaging and memorable format. You must be highly organized, proficient in time management, and possess excellent public speaking skills.

Responsible to: Client Strategy Director, Head of Learning & Development

Salary: Up to £55,000

Location: Old Trafford, Manchester

External relationships: approved training suppliers

Internal relationships: all internal stakeholders at PHMG

Hours: 8.45am – 5.15pm


  • Responsible for developing the knowledge and skills of PHMG’s employees to ensure staff are equipped to meet PHMG’s current & future business objectives.
  • Facilitate and deliver engaging PHMG Induction programmes to all new staff.
  • Coach and support internal stakeholder trainers to improve their delivery
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions etc.
  • Plan and implement an effective training curriculum in line with PHMG’s L&D strategy.
  • Prepare hard copy training materials such as module summaries, videos, and presentations.
  • Assist to coach internal stakeholder trainers in their session delivery to enhance the new starter experience.
  • Collaborate with Training & Development Manager and Senior Management to track training performance and identify retraining and process improvement opportunities.
  • Using observational skills to assess trainee understanding and progress and make suggestions for any necessary adjustments to the programme.
  • Liaising with internal management to ensure all training materials are updated with any company policy/ service developments.
  • Coordination with the L&D Coordinator to ensure all learning programmes are delivered effectively.
  • Create a culture of continuous learning and development.

Skills, qualities and experience:

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree (BSc) in education, business, Human Resources (HR) and other related courses.
  • Proven experience as corporate trainer
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools
  • Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in corporate teaching
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software.
  • High empathy skills and understanding of effective teaching methodologies and the willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in teaching.
  • Adherence to company philosophy/mission statement/sales goals.
  • Phenomenal communication, presentation and public speaking skill
